Journeyman Insulator

Position Summary: The Journeyman Insulator will be responsible for insulating manufactured products in order to help control and maintain temperature according to industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Apply, remove, and/or repair all insulating materials to piping systems and vessels safely according to industry rules and regulations.
  • Work with different types of insulation such as:
  • Mineral Wool
  • Ceramic Fiber
  • Polyurethane
  • Foam Glass
  • Read and interpet drawings and specification to determine the insulation requirements.
  • Apply cladding on pipes and pressure vessels.
  • Assist with the method of securing the insulation, such as spraying, pinwelding,wiring,pasting,strapping and or taping.
  • Able to follow instructions exactly as given.
  • Mentor and work closely with insulation Apprentices.
  • Report any issues and/or concerns to the insulation Lead Hand and/or Insulation Supervisor.


  • Support, particiapte in, and help drive to overall company safety program, safety awareness, and safety targets.
  • Consistently demonstrate "Safety Leadership" qualities.


  • 2 years of experience as a Insulator Journeyman.
  • Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate an ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a dynamic ever changing environment.
  • Participate in achieving departmental "Key Performance Indicators".


  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, from Managers to Senior Executives, with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity toward client engagements and confidentiality when interacting with TDE leadership.
  • Adaptability and the ability to handle ambiguity.


  • Must have Journeyman Status.

Hours Of Work:

  • Afrernoon shift 3:30p.m - 1:30a.m
